Final Model

The final model combines elements from the different drafts produced before. Using the initial powerful idea of a hurricane/tornado for the space above for Steve Jobs, and then combining it with a moving texture, gives the building an electronic feel and also the motion of an hurricane. The middle path allows the elevator to reach the top and is the spine and eye of the building. The hurricane is a powerful image that natural and cannot be stopped, just like Jobs influence on the current society and electronics.

The bridge inbetween is seperated into two simple parts, a space inorder to see the complete hurricane, and the one below to see the hand below. The space under the bridge for the elevator is a dark path inorder to reach the light. There is also a half transparent barrier around the space for it locks the people inside, overpowering them, allowing them to see the outside, but not allowing them to get there. It can also be seen as a protective barrier or even being inside the hurricane, for it has a similar texture.

The powerful hand for the space below for Zhang Yin, combines the strips produced from the previous draft to provide platforms for the space, and continues the shape of a hurricane. The hand is a image of picking up the paper, power, money, while the strips that make the hurricane are sheets of paper, made by the "Empress of Paper."

Elevator and Dining Table

The concept of the elevator is having two seperate elevators that combine into one at times and seperate at other times. Due to only having several moves for the elevators I had to make two set of elevators for the space below and above. The elevator itself wraps around the person in it overpowering them, but still allowing them to look through the gaps.

The concept of the table is somewhat similar, having random holes through the block to allow people to see through to the other side, bringing the clients together.

Draft Testing

After the previous drafts, I found that after importing Sketchup models into UT, the textures were very small and didn't look very good. So I wanted to make everything in UT, not using Sketchup. That way it gave me time to experiment with textures. After that, I found that there are moving textures, and it looked really cool. I then experimented these textures with imported Sketchup models, and found that it worked... But I did end up using parts of this model.

I really liked this concept, but felt it didn't look at nice as the hurricane. The concept was simple, the boxes above is for Steve Jobs, looking like pixels, and electronics (from the moving texture). Then they are combined together just like drawning people together for almost everyone has an iPod now. The hurricane was transformed into sheets and strips of paper made for Zhang Yin, and was somewhat combined into Jobs' space, but still seperated. I really liked this idea where they are connected and yet seperate. It was from this model which allowed me to produce the final model.

Draft Model 3

This is something near the final draft but I am having trouble with the textures... I am trying to figure it out.

Draft Model 2

A few changes were made, additions to the bridge as well as making the hand below look better. This was done through the tutorials given on Sketchup to use the sandbox to modify shapes.

Draft Model 1

The concept of my design is simple. A hurricane/tornado looking space above for Steve Jobs and a hand figure below the bridge fro Zhang Yin. Both are very powerful images. I am planning to do this all in Sketchup for shapes like these look better, and are easily made in Sketchup.
